Here 4 U

 

Here4U is a freely available listening, advice and referral service for teenagers (12-19) who, while not in immediate crisis, feel that they would benefit from a listening ear, or would like to learn more about who might best provide them with specialised assistance to address their concerns.

 

Here4U workers meet with young people to do the following:

 

Listening

non-judgmental, confidential and non-directive clarify, reflect on and explore the situation – trained youth workers use skills

 

Refer

Non-directive service present options – sometimes only one – explain how to utilises referral, clarify consequence of taking up those options

 

Provide Guiding support

Help young person to determine a plan, identify the consequences of that plan and take steps on that plan
